How is Blouberg Municipality Celebrating Heritage with Bahananwa Traditional Community?

Her Worship Cllr Maria Thamaga, the Mayor of Blouberg Local Municipality has called on Blouberg communities to equally celebrate the Heritage Month with pride and dignity as it is all about who they are. Mayor Thamaga was deliverying a message of support at the Heritage and Statue Celebration of Kgoshigolo Rachacha - Bahananwa Traditional Community at Kwarung Village earlier today(September 21). "Re le Masepala ngwaga ka ngwaga re tšea karolo meketekong ya kgwedi bohwa ya magoši a rena. We will continue to do so and grow this partnership. September month is commonly known as heritage month. Re hlakanetša sehla se se seswa. It is about our arts and culture. It is about our heritage. It about who we are. A re tšweletšeng meaparo le mebino ka moka yeo e amanago le setšo sa rena. Let us show our true colours". Equally, in government cycles September, is a month of service delivery. Mayor Thamaga indicated that, the Council is working tirelessly to ensure that the municipality continues to deliver sustainable services to communities. We have also handed over sites to contractors for construction of the following roads for 2024 financial year; Kwarung, Thalane,Senwabarwana D1200(other critical streets within the town) and Alldays internal streets Re kgonne go dira tše ka moka ka baka la tšhomišano le tlemagano le Magoshi a rena le ditšhaba tša rena. This cooperation and working together is part of our heritage". In conclusion the extended her gratitude to traditional leaders for walking the service delivery journey with the municipality for the past three decades. "As we celebrate 30 years of freedom and democracy we need to look back with pride. We come a long way walking side by side le Magoshi a rena. Other dignitaries at the event included; Council Speaker, Cllr Blanco Boloka, Whip of Council, Cllr Johanna Rangata, Executive Committee(EXCO)members, Member of Parliament(MP)Mr Soviet Lekganyane and Kgosi Sello Molebatsi Moroka III of Lerala in Botswana.
